When I do a search, it always comes up with no matches found.

When you are on the search page, you will find that you can also search on a specific category or highlight.  If you have selected a category or highlight then you are telling PocketBible to do a search only on those verses that have been bookmarked in that specific category or are highlighted in that particular color.  If that is not what you intended to do, verify that you have both the highlight and the category field set to None.  Then give your search another try.
